Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the U.S. Navy's principal command for the design, construction, and maintenance of the navy's ships and systems. Its mission is to engineer, build, buy and maintain Navy ships, submarines and combat systems that meet the Fleet's current and future operational requirements, while its vision is to be the dominant provider of cutting-edge sea power technology worldwide. Founded in 1794 and overseen by the Department of the Navy, NAVSEA is headquartered in Washington D.C. and operates from other locations around the country.
